GCSE RESULTS 2019: Iceni Academy




Of the 96 students who sat GCSEs from Iceni Academy, in Methwold, 56 per cent achieved a grade 4 or higher in both English and maths.

Stephen Plume, principal, said: "This is another set of impressive exam results for Iceni Academy and there are many individual success stories. We are particularly proud of the hard work put in by this year group to exceed all expectations despite a variety of challenges. Thank you to all of the staff both at Iceni and at the Trust and to parents, carers and the wider community for your help and support.

"Your help and support, particularly when we lost our colleague Andy Speake at Christmas, made all the difference."

In English 65 per cent of pupils received grade 4 or higher in maths and 65 per cent received a grade 4 or above in English.

Susan Byles, Regional Education Director, Academy Transformation Trust, said: "Another year sees excellent GCSE results from Iceni Secondary Academy. The students must be congratulated for their hard work which combined with the expertise, dedication and commitment of the principal and staff at the academy has contributed to another set of fantastic achievement in a range of subjects. We wish the students every success as they move on to the next stage of their educational journey."
