THRILLSEEKERS were in luck last weekend as a funfair provided a rollercoaster experience.
Mildenhall’s Jubilee Fields played host to Zack FM’s first ever fund-raising funfair.
Rollercoaster rides, food stalls and a tombola raised more than £2,000 for the community radio station, which has to come up with £30,000 each year to stay afloat.
Jeff Davis, managing director at Zack FM, said the weekend was a massive success.
“People really came out in droves and the great thing was that it brought the community together,” he said.
Community radio stations have to raise 50 per cent of their budget through means other than advertising since government grants dried up.
Mr Davis said it had become much tougher for Zack FM to survive but that volunteers had pulled together to make it a success.
