Charities, community and voluntary organisations have just three weeks left to apply for funding from West Suffolk councils’ Community Chest.

Launched in June, the Chest has seen Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council increase funding available, with more than £500,000 of grants set to be awarded for 2016/17.

The scheme is designed to simplify the range of funding previously offered by councils, while encouraging organisations to explore new ways of improving the lives of residents.

The deadline for applications is September 30. For details, visit www.westsuf folk.gov.uk/community
