Fund-raisers for this year’s Girls Night Out take to the streets to sign women up

FUND-RAISERS from St Nicholas Hospice Care are planning to take to the streets to persuade women to sign up for this year’s Girls Night Out.

Friday May 25 will be a blitz day when fund-raisers will head out in a push to get 1000 women signed up.

Jenny Baskett, Events and challenges fund-raiser, said: “Last year more than 700 women raised a brilliant £100,000 for St Nicholas Hospice care. This year we are hoping to smash that total and get 1,000 sign-ups.

“Friday is the perfect opportunity for local women to get involved because they can chat to our fund-raising team and ask any questions they might have.”

The teams of fund-raisers will be visiting Sudbury, Haverhill, Thetford, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds on Friday.

This year’s Girls Night Out has a goddess theme inspired by the Olympics and will see women adorned in togas, laurels and a sprinkling of gold walking around the streets of Bury St Edmunds to raise money for the hospice.

Girls Night Out is the hospice’s biggest single fund-raising event of the year and organisers hope that this year more than 1,000 women will meet at Angel Hill for the moonlit walk on September 15.

A £10 earlybird registration offer is available for everyone signing up before May 31 - to sign up go to
