MEERKATS to magicians will be in the mix at the Bury St Edmunds Whitsun Fayre.
Organised by Bid4Bury, this year’s event will be held over the extended bank holiday weekend in June.Other attractions planned include a mini farm, flower market, face painter and stilt walker, it aims to keep visitors of all ages amused.
Mark Cordell, chief executive of Bid4Bury, said he hoped the event would increase footfall in the town centre.
“This will hopefully lead to additional business, as well as people having a greater awareness of all that Bury has to offer and encourage people to revisit the town,” he said.
The Whitsun Fayre will be held on Sunday June 3 and Monday June 4, 10am-4pm in the Buttermarket.
Other events planned for the summer include St John’s Street Fayre on Saturday, June 16, The Big Street Dance on Saturday, July 14, and the Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival in August. For more information, visit www.ourburystedmunds.com
