Friends unite to help fight cancer

A marathon 12-hour crochet and knitting challenge has raised more than £1,000 for charity.

Esme said: “It was absolutely phenomenal because it was so well supported.

“It was above and beyond what we expected.”

Many who took part created panels to help with the second part of Esme’s vision, a community art project. They will be sewed together, like patchwork, to decorate a tree in the Abbey Gardens from May to September.
