Where do we be-gin? Get your rhubarb ready for unusual offer at The Bushel pub




Calling all gin (and rhubarb) lovers – free gin is on the menu at a Bury St Edmunds pub this weekend in return for an unusual form of payment.

The Bushel, in St John's Street, will accept a stick of rhubarb (fresh or tinned) as currency for a refreshing G&T on Saturday and Sunday.

Gin lovers simply need to visit the bar to swap the seasonal veg for a chilled glass of Whitley Neill rhubarb and ginger gin and tonic.

Adam Curley, general manager, said: “Everyone loves a gin and tonic on a summer's day and there’s no denying a chilled glass that you haven’t had to pay for tastes even better.

“We look forward to inviting local gin lovers to enjoy a taste of rhubarb goodness on the house this weekend.”

The unconventional offer has been launched to meet the rising demand for quirky flavour combinations and botanicals in gin.
