A long-standing fund-raiser from Fornham All Saints has raised £700 for the Upbeat heart charity.

Freddie Chenery has been hosting events at the village’s community centre for the past ten years, raising thousands of pounds for charities including Macmillan Nurses, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Cancer Research, the Rainbow Children’s Ward at West Suffolk Hospital, Alzheimer’s and the Dogs Trust.

On October 31 Freddie staged a big Halloween bash at Great Barton village hall raising £800 for Upbeat. He went on to organise another community event on New Year’s Eve at Fornham All Saints Community Centre, raising a further £700 for the charity.

“I think that a quick calculation arrived at a total in excess of £3,500 that I have helped them raise over the last few years,” he said. In the picture, Freddie presents Sylvia Baker and Hilary Neeves from Upbeat with his latest charity cheque.
