Four vehicle collision near Thetford seriously injures two men

Three men were taken to hospital, two with serious injuries, after a four vehicle collision near Thetford today.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the incident on the A1066, at the Gasthorpe crossroads, at around 12:10pm.

Two Toyotas, a Peugeot and a flat bed truck had been involved in a collision. The road was closed while the incident was dealt with.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said three men received treatment at the scene, two for serious injuries.

One was treated for chest pain, one had a suspected fractured wrist and the other had a suspected broken collar bone.

Two men were taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further treatment. The third was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said the road was reopened by 2.05pm.
