The Mayor of St Edmundsbury Borough Council was among hundreds of people to visit a newly-refurbished fitness facility last weekend.
The Health Hub in Fornham St Genevieve offered visitors their first look at its new face-lift when it launched its new £200,000 state-of-the-art gym on Saturday.
Kim and Stuart Turner, who run the business in partnership with David Harris and Mary Swenson, were delighted to welcome the mayor, Cllr Patrick Chung, to their open day and to give him a tour of their new-look premises.
Mrs Turner said: “It was lovely to be able to show it off.
“There was a really good buzz and a lovely atmosphere with lots of classes and demonstrations going on which people really got behind - and we got the mayor on the treadmills which was great.”
Mr Turner, who is also a personal trainer, was excited to launch the gym’s first Synergise classes, personal training sessions for groups of between four and six people, as part of the open day.
“It went really well,” he said. “We had a lot of people through the doors and it was nice to be able to demonstrate what we and the new kit can do.”
As well as the new gym, The Health Hub – at All Saints Hotel, formerly The Suffolk Golf and Spa Hotel – has a swimming pool with Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.
