A FORMER Suffolk police officer has been arrested and charged with 22 offences of making and possessing illegal images of children.

In March, officers from Suffolk Police’s professional standards department executed a search warrant at an address in Thetford and seized computer equipment.

On Wednesday Ian Reynolds, 44, was arrested and has subsequently been charged with 22 counts of making and possessing illicit images of children.

Reynold, who resigned from Suffolk Police in May, has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Norwich Magistrates Court on Friday June 3.
