Flowers and music generate £870 for Hessett church

Musical Blooms, a flower festival with live music at Hessett, generated funds to the tune of £870 for the village church.

Among the musicians were Hessett residents Sharon Francis and her daughter Rebecca on cello, guitarist Josh Green accompanied by vocalist Izzie Blair, Sarah Lock and Mark Armstrong playing the piano and Adrian Marple, the organist at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds who gave a recital on the church’s Victorian organ.

The floral arrangements by villagers included milk churns, tin baths, watering cans and even bicycle wheels as props.

The event was organised by the Friends of Hessett Church,
