Five remain in custody following arrests near Thetford in connection with Norwich robbery

Five people remain in custody following a robbery in Norwich yesterday.

Officers were called shortly after 10.50am to reports of a robbery at a jewellers in London Street.

Following more than 40 999 calls and information from members of the public, officers were able to identify suspects and six males were arrested on suspicion of robbery within an hour of the incident. They were arrested just off the A11 near Thetford.

One of them, a 14-year-old from the Norwich area, has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries until September 12.

The five who remain in police custody are a 25-year-old, a 24-year-old, a 22-year-old man, an 18-year old and a 17-year-old, all from the London area.
