MPs Stephen Morgan, Steve Double, Julia Lopez, Stephen McPartland and Giles Watling visit RAF Honington

Five MPs visited RAF Honington last week to get an insight into military life.

The Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme aims to make politicians more informed before making contributions in the Commons.

Labour’s Stephen Morgan joined Tory MPs Steve Double, Julia Lopez, Stephen McPartland and Giles Watling to visit the Suffolk military base.

The MPs were shown around by Wing Commander Gregory Smith of CAS Air Staff and viewed demonstrations from all aspects of life at the station.

A spokesman commented: “RAF Honington exceptionally showcased the talent and skills of the whole force and gave our visiting MPs a thorough and exciting introduction to the services and military life.”
