Plans for Fishwick Corner junction deferred by West Suffolk Council

Outline plans due to be decided by West Suffolk Council's development control committee on Wednesday have been deferred.

The outline proposals, for land adjacent to Fishwick Corner, Thurston Road, Rougham, had been recommended for approval but were deferred on a procedural matter. They are expected to go before the committee on a future date.

The plans, by applicants Bloor Homes and Sir George Agnew, are for improvements to Fishwick Corner – which is located in West Suffolk – and 210 dwellings, which are located in Mid Suffolk.

The homes development has been approved by Mid Suffolk and is contingent on the Fishwick Corner proposals being given the green light.

The West Suffolk application seeks to realign New Road to create a staggered junction – the junction is known locally as Fishwick Corner – to increase capacity and reduce delays.
