Firefighters rescue cat from house fire in Bury St Edmunds.

Two crews from Bury St Edmunds were called to a house fire in the town in the early hours of this morning.

They received an emergency call at around 3.20am reporting that a property in Springfield Road was full of smoke.

Firefighters forced entry into the house and rescued a cat which they treated with oxygen therapy.

Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire and were back at base by about 4.50am.
