Bury St Edmunds and Long Melford firefighters battle shed fire which spread to bungalow




Firefighters battled a shed fire which spread to a bungalow.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 1.45pm today (June 29) to the incident in Chapel Road, Stanningfield.

One fire engine from Long Melford and two from Bury St Edmunds attended.

A fire service spokesman said: "The shed, measuring approximately 5m by 3m, was fully alight upon arrival and had started to spread to the nearby bungalow.

"Crews sectorised the incident and are making good progress.

"The bungalow is being assessed for further spread of fire and the surrounding areas are being dampened down."

They had dealt with the incident by 3.39pm.
