A TOWN’S firefighters took up a different battle this week - for better cancer care.
Macmillan Cancer Support dropped in to Thetford Fire Station to launch fund-raising for their Coffee Morning on September 30.
Thetford Fire Station is holding their own event on the day and Christine Cater, organiser, said their door’s would be open to the public.
“We are supporting Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning because all of the staff here believe this is a worthwhile cause and we are hoping to raise as much money as we can.
“We would like to invite as many people as possible from the local community to come and join us for coffee, tea and cakes in a friendly and welcoming environment,” she said.
The coffee morning will be from 9am to 1pm.
This year is Macmillan’s 100th anniversary.
