Emergency services were called to a fire in a block of flats in Bury St Edmunds this morning.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service received reports of smoke coming out of windows on the first floor of a block of flats in Mildenhall Road, Bury, at 11.30am.

A spokesman for the fire service said that ‘all persons were accounted for’.

Three fire crews from Bury attended, as well as police and an ambulance.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said no-one was thought to be trapped and the fire was not thought to be suspicious.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said its crew stood down on arrival because no-one was injured at the scene.
