Fifty shades of foodie fun
With Valentines Day on Saturday followed by Pancake Day on Tuesday and Chinese New Year a few days later, next week has plenty of opportunities for foodies to join in Bury St Edmunds’ virtual food festival.
Many have special Valentines Day offers while the Zen Noodle Bar has a Chinese New Year celebration and if you are not too tied up, No 4 Hatter Street, the Abbeygate Cinema’s restaurant, has a special menu to celebrate the launch of the Fifty Shades of Grey film.
Using the hashtag #FFFF, people are invited to post pictures of their favourite meals out on social media until the end of the month, while pubs, bars cafes and restaurants can share their special menus, from Valentines specials to cocktails and humble sandwiches.
It was the idea of OurBuryStEdmunds business improvement district whose chief executive Mark Cordell said: “The food and drink outlets in Bury St Edmunds have really embraced the FFFF concept and the special page on our website is absolutely jam packed with the different offers and deals.
“I’m delighted so many food and drink stalls on the market are joining in too.”
