Fifth suspect released while Thetford murder investigation continues




A man, in his 60s, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a 25 year old, in Thetford, on October 3, has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

He was arrested at a property in Thetford in the early hours of Tuesday morning (October 8) on suspicion of assisting an offender and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

It follows the murder of David Lawal in Brandon Road, who suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene just before 8pm.

Two men, aged 26 and 29, who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released under investigation while a 17-year-old male has been bailed until 30 October 2019 while the investigation continues.

A fourth man, aged 48, arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and Class A drugs, has also been released under investigation.
