Suffolk Police and Fire Services were called to a house fire in Stowupland last night when it was feared people were trapped inside.

Police were called just after 7pm by Suffolk Fire Service, to a house fire in Highfield Road, Stowupland.

A police spokesman said: “At the time it was reported that people were trapped within the premises, fortunately this was not the case.

“All people linked to the property have been accounted for.”

The cause and circumstances are being investigated by fire and police, though it is understood to have been a grill pan fire.

The house needed to be ventilated to let smoke out and one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
