Fatal on railway line at Bury St Edmunds

TRAIN services resumed this morning after a woman died when she was struck by a frieght train travelling through Bury St Edmunds this morning.

Emergency services were been called to the fatal incident on the railway line at the foot crossing in the area between Mount Road and Cattishall.

Paradmedics and police were called to the line just before 8am this morning after reports that someone had been hit by a train.

Trains were stopped between Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich and buses were laid on until 11 am this morning.

National Express East Anglia said the train involved was a regular frieghtliner service between Doncaster and Felixstowe.
