THE LATEST hats, shoes, jewellery, clothes and hairstyles were the focus of a fashion show held at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, last Thursday.
More than 30 of Bury’s fashion retailers were invited to showcase their latest designs in the sell out Fashion Fusion event, attended by around 570 people.
Julie Warren, development manager at The Apex and organiser of the event, said: “It was certainly exciting on the night. It was fabulous to see so many ladies and gentlemen in the audience. We will be looking at making this a permanent event.”
A mix of high street and independent stores took part, including Animal, Bella Lingerie, Cabana, Debenhams, Fat Face, Hobbs Monsoon, New Look, Nicola Sexton, Officers Club, Palmers, Phase Eight and Wallis.
Men and women modelled the retailers’ latest fashions on a catwalk more than 15 metres long while Kate Solomons, presenter of the Clothes Show Live and former Miss England runner-up, compered the show.
Accessories, including hair and beauty, hats, shoes and jewellery, were also displayed to music by DJ Sebadee.
The audience was treated to a drinks and canapés reception, provided free of charge by local businesses, and was invited to take part in a charity raffle.
All of the profits from the event, which is expected to reach thousands of pounds, will be donated to St Nicholas Hospice Care, in Bury.
