Fashion Fusion proves a hit

Last night’s sell-out charity fashion show at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds proved a huge hit once again.

Fashion Fusion, in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care, saw local high street and independent retailers showcase their spring and summer collections.

VIP ticket holders arrived early for pre-show demonstrations, with stalls offering a host of treats from L’Occitane en Provence’s mini facials and hand massages to Hairaid Shelter’s vintage hairstyling.

Young fashion got the main show underway, followed by exclusive fashion after a short coffee and muffin break.

Audience members greeted the models with rapturous applause, especially those from Gerald Boughton who proved popular with the crowd dominated by women.

There were particularly enthusiastic catwalk displays from retailers East and Animal, from Bury, while young models for the town’s JoJo Maman Bebe were also well received.

Hairdressing and beauty therapy students from West Suffolk College were in charge of hair and make up, while fashion students showcased their own designs during the show’s finale.

Last year’s event raised more than £5,500 for the hospice and organisers are hopeful that last night’s performance will have raised even more.
