THE sun was out, children were running around excitedly and the barbecue was on the go.
Christmas Hill Farm, in Lakenheath, celebrated its second anniversary in style last Sunday with a bumper day of activities and attractions.
The 700-acre farm welcomed almost ,1000 visitors to witness a working livestock farm in action, with charity stalls, tractor rides and a Punch and Judy just some of the distractions on show.
Christmas Hill’s farm shop and tea room opened in 2009 and has flourished through sales of their rare breed beef and lamb.
Regular customer Claire Constable enjoyed the day.
She said: “The tractor rides were brilliant – the farmers are obviously very knowledgeable and it’s important for the children to learn about how farming as an industry works.”
Alastair Angus, shop manager at the farm, said: “We couldn’t have hoped for a better turnout.
“The weather was fantastic and it was great to see people here, learning and having a great time.”
The Farm Shop is open from Tuesday to Sunday and Tea Room is open Wednesdays.
