Excitement is mounting following the official launch of Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough Charity Auction, which got under way on Thursday.

The latest item to be added to the online auction, which will be live until October 27 and will continue to accept donations until two days before, is Lot 216 – a Manchester United VIP Package.

With more than 30 bids already, the package will see four guests enjoy a unique experience at the club, including seeing the first team train at the Aon Training Complex and a behind the scenes tour of the facility, as well as a private tour of the Old Trafford stadium and museum, executive seats at a match and a meet and greet with Manchester United hosts and ex-players.

As well as a host of ‘money can’t buy’ football fan experiences, other prizes up for grabs include luxury escapes, golf getaways, distillery courses, sporting memorabilia and celebrity meet and greets.

Gina Long, auction founder and friend of Sir Bobby Robson, said this year’s prizes were ‘simply fantastic’.

She added: “The only way we have a hope to raise our £1,000,000 is if people get behind the auction and register to bid. Unlike our first online auction in 2011 there is an equal split from the 300 amazing prizes of sport and lifestyle, there is literally something for everyone.”

Backed by headline supporter BT Sport, the campaign will raise crucial funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and cancer services at West Suffolk and Ipswich Hospitals.
