A former Thetford mayor has handed over more than £1,000 to a charity that she says ‘touches everyone’.

Pauline Quadling was at St Nicholas Hospice Care on Tuesday to donate £1,180 raised during her year in office.

She said: “I chose the hospice as one of my charities because it is ‘home’ and it touches everyone.”

Sue Long, the hospice’s community fund-raiser, thanked Ms Quadling for the money.
