Lark oil spill

THE oil spill which covered a long stretch of the River Lark last week is still being investigated by the Environment Agency.

An estimated 5,000 gallons of oil got into the river at Eastern Way Industrial Estate last Monday and spread as far as Fornham.

The agency still had booms and absorbent pads in place on Wednesday and was planning a biological survey towards the end of this week to assess the impact. The source of the leak is being investigated.
