A DOG owner was left ‘gobsmacked’ and ‘dazed’ when her Patterdale Jack Russell cross gave birth to 10 puppies this week.
Angela Jordon, 46, of Rockingham Road, Bury St Edmunds, had been taking it in turns with her daughter Caitlin, 16, and son Conor, 14, to sleep downstairs next to their expectant canine companion Amber.
When the litter began arriving in the early hours of Monday morning, Caitlin had fallen asleep and ‘the next thing she heard was the whimper of a puppy’.
“When the eighth one came I thought ‘oh my goodness’, then with the ninth one I was really gobsmacked and thought ‘she can’t have any more, surely’ and then the tenth one popped out,” said Mrs Jordon.
With this being four-year-old Amber’s ‘fourth and last litter’ Miss Jordon said she was expecting between four and eight pups.
“All day I was in a daze, I couldn’t believe what had happened.”
Mum and pups are all said do be ‘doing very well’.
