The fiancee of Bury St Edmunds midwife Hannah Seeley, killed in a car accident last April, has completed the three peaks challenge in her memory.

Mark Wade, his brothers Ashley and Ian, cousin Aaron Goodridge and friend Dan Watts, climbed Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, and Mount Snowdon – the latter on Saturday coincided with the anniversary of Hannah’s funeral.

“It was very emotional, more than I thought it would be,” said Mark. “It was extremely hard but I had the right group of friends around me.”

The money raised will go towards a new birthing pool room at West Suffolk Hospital, to be named after Hannah.

A charity bike ride on June 29 will raise money for the same cause.

There are 50 and 25 mile routes from The Stanton Cock pub. It is o pen to all.

Sponsorship forms are available from the pub.
