Elderly man involved in Stowmarket collision remains in a critical condition

An elderly man remains in a critical condition after suffering life-threatening head injuries in a collision in Stowmarket.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 3.40pm yesterday to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist, in Needham Road.

The cyclist, an elderly man, was flown by the East Anglian Air Ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Needham Road was closed between the roundabout with Lavenham Way and the mini roundabout at Combs Ford and reopened just after 6pm.

This morning, Suffolk Police confirmed the man remained in a ‘critical condition’.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting reference CAD 295 of September 30.
