Elderly cyclist dies after collision in Stowmarket

An 81-year-old cyclist seriously injured in a collision in Stowmarket last week has now died.

Police were called by the East of England Ambulance Service at 3.40pm on Wednesday (September 30) to reports of a collision between a car and a bicycle in Needham Road.

Derek Cook, of Lyme Tree Place, Stowmarket, was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with life-threatening head injuries, where he has since died.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting reference CAD 295 of September 30.
