Police crime news.

An elderly couple were threatened with a screwdriver by burglars who raided their home.

An investigation has been launched into the raid, which happened in Burdock Lane, Hockwold, at around 7.20pm on Tuesday.

Detectives say a number of men entered the property and demanded the money.

The couple were threatened with what is believed to have been a screwdriver before the raiders made off with a quantity of cash.

Det Sgt Chris Parnham, of King’s Lynn CID, who is leading the investigation, said: “While the investigation is in the early stages, our enquiries are focused on this being a targeted incident as opposed to a random attack.”

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the raid, or who has information about it, should contact Det Sgt Parnham on 101.
