A GROUP of creative youngsters have injected some life and colour into a community project – after funding it themselves.
Britannia House, in Ipswich Street, Bury St Edmunds, is looking better than ever after Prince’s Trust Team 14 from West Suffolk College gave it a lick of paint.
A bike shed, games room and outside wall were all fixed up last week.
The group raised £500 for the project through sponsored cycles, walks and a host of other activities.
Steph Wilkie, 23, from Bury, painted a mural of Britannia on an outside wall.
She said: “I left school without any qualifications, but this has given me more confidence and I’ll leave with something to show for it.”
Janet Wood, project manager at Britannia House, said tenants would make the most of the newly decorated spaces.
