An aspiring young designer from Thetford Grammar School has won a competition with a local firm to desgin a new piece of furniture and have her creation made into a real product.
Year Six student Ella Perry won the competition for Years Four, Five and Six to design a new product for Cockfield firm A J Laminated Beams, under the direction of the school’s art department.
She was presented with a £200 Amazon voucher by a representative of the company for her table design in a special ceremony on Monday.
She received £200 of vouchers from a retailer of her choosing, Amazon, which she said she is looking forward to spending on arts and crafts.
The school also received £100 of vouchers, which it plans to put towards art materials.
Headteacher Isobel Cracknell praised the company’s agreement to donate the finished table to the school.
