STUDENTS at Needham Market Middle School are on top of the world and that’s a fact that truly adds up for the pupils.
Key Stage 2 pupils beat Australia, Estonia and the USA in the World Maths Day competition and are listed number one on its website ‘s Hall of Fame.
And Year 8 pupil Raimundo Norman, 13, was named top in the world for completing the most practice sessions before the competition opened – a wopping 3,000.
Students had to answer a series of maths questions at different levels and each challenge was time limited so speed and accuracy were vital.
James Neale, headteacher, said: “This is a really fantastic achievement. Our team deserves huge congratulations.”
