Pupils made some new feathered friends when a variety of owls swooped on their village school.
The children at Great Whelnetham Primary enjoyed and took part in demonstrations featuring the trained birds led by the Essex based company Owl Time.
They brought in a variety of owls including barn, eagle and short-eared.
Head Chris Lawson said: “It was absolutely brilliant. A couple of the children had the owls taking off and landing in their arms. Some of them laid on the floor and the owls flew right over them.”
The visit compliments Key Stage One’s studies on habitats.
