PUPILS and staff are celebrating after their school was praised by education watchdogs.
Arbor Preparatory School, in Risby, has received a glowing report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
The school, which caters for children aged four to 11, follows the Montessori teaching principles, which allows subjects to be brought to life.
In the report, inspectors said ‘the quality of the pupils’ achievements and their learning, attitudes and skills is outstanding’.
Meanwhile, ‘the quality of teaching is good overall, with a significant proportion being outstanding’.
It added that the ‘personal development of pupils is excellent’ and they ‘are very happy at the school and feel extremely well supported by all staff’.
Headteacher Wendy Compson said: “This report is fantastic as it reflects the achievements, success and the ethos of the school.”
Pupils recently celebrated the International Day of Families with activities including a display of national flags, dress, costume dolls and food. The school has also been hosting the Warrenhill Festival of Performing Arts.
