A FUND to create a memorial to former pupils who have died in conflicts is to be set up at Old Buckenham Hall School, in Brettenham.
The fund was announced at the school’s 150th anniversary celebrations at the weekend.
The school moved to the village in 1956 after suffering two major fires at former sites.
Two days of celebration included a party, drinks reception, concert and service as well as the annual village fete.
The school was also visited by an Apache attack helicopter from 3 Regiment Army Air Corps at Wattisham whose crews have promised to support the fund.
Four generations of the Sewell family, who have provided two former headmasters, attended as did past members of staff and pupils.
The weekend also saw the launch of the former pupils’ association the OBH Society.
Headmaster John Brett said: “This has been a tremendous opportunity for our school to reconnect with its past and bring the whole community of Old Buckenham Hall together.”
