A SCHOOL which caters for the needs of disabled children has recently raised enough money to open a new state of the art sensory room.
Riverwalk School, in Bury St Edmunds, launched the £40,000 facility, which features a magic carpet, bubble machine and light beam facilty, after various fund-raising events including a Sunflower Ball staged by WS Training.
Headteacher Audrey Finch said: “We have been able to choose the most up to date and dynamic equipment available which means that the sensory experience will be as accessible and stimulating as possible for all our pupils.”
Meanwhile, the school has received £2,200 for play equipment from an auction and raffle at the Wheatsheaf pub, in Exning. Prizes included a quarter share of a race horse for six months and wedding dress.
