The head chef at a landmark hotel officially opened a school’s revamped cookery rooms.
Jason Scrimshaw, who recently joined the Angel Hotel, in Bury, spoke to pupils about his role during the launch event at Horringer Court Middle.
The cookery rooms have been given a complete overhaul with new flooring, sinks, worktops and utensils. The number of cookers has gone up from four to eight. The project was funded through the school’s capital money and fund-raising by the PTA. Head Tania Johnson said: “It was desperately needed. The space is better now and the pupils don’t have to share so many things.”
