PUPILS at a village school are scaling new heights following the launch of a new club.
Year 3 and 4 children at Great Finborough Primary School, near Stowmarket, are getting to grips with new skills after joining the school’s climbing club.
The club is led by qualified instructors and meets every Wednesday at Stowmarket Leisure Centre. It is part of the school’s wider Sport Strategy, which will be launched fully after Easter.
The strategy will include increased use of specialist coaches to deliver PE and games lessons, access to a greater variety of after school sports clubs and increased opportunities for ‘gifted and more able’ pupils.
Headteacher Stephen Dodd said pupils are enjoying the activities.
He added: “The children have been very excited about this new opportunity. It has been great to see the children grow in confidence and deveop new skills each week.”
