It’s been a sizzling term for Hercules class at Great Heath Primary School who have been studying volcanos.
The 26 year three and four students have learnt how volcanos are formed and how eruptions happen, making collages showing a cross-section of the geological phenomenons.
In a daring experiment they used baking powder and vinegar to make their own eruptions as well as designing emergency packs of everything needed to survive such an event.
Students also designed tools to aid the work of volcanologists.
Most recently the class have written Haiku and Cinquain poems about volcanos , for example:
Hot volcanoes erupting,
A dark cloud of ash.
