FORTY musicians from a Suffolk school felt right at home when they crossed the pond to Suffolk . . . Virginia.
The swing and Dixie bands, barbershop and senior choirs, sax quartet and a string orchestra from County Upper, in Bury St Edmunds, spent half term on tour in the US state.
As well as four concerts and several smaller performances, the choir sang the American national anthem in front of more than 7,000 fans at an ice hockey game.
The tour ended with a VIP tour of Washington including the White House and Capitol Building.
Headteacher Vicky Neale said: “I am so grateful to our staff, led by Tim Jenkins, for giving up their whole half term and incredibly proud of our students.”
