A PRIMARY school in Stowmarket is celebrating after receiving a good Ofsted report.

Wood Ley Community Primary School, in Lowry Way, gained a ‘good’ grade in every category during an Ofsted inspection in March.

The school also gained one excellent rating for pupil contribution to the wider community.

Headteacher, Sara Ward, said: “We are pleased that the Ofsted report has recognised that the caring and pupil-centred atmosphere of the school provides a good environment for learning, that the curriculum is good and that the school runs smoothly.”

Ofsted commended the school for a positive atmosphere in the classroom, and said that the good quality of care, guidance and support promoted pupils’ personal development.

The report said: ‘They enjoy their time at school and develop into friendly and confident individuals.’

Inspectors were also impressed with the school curriculum and the use of activity days and trips to enhance their education.

Wood Ley school caters to 194 pupils aged between four and nine.
