A bestselling children’s author captivated pupils with stories about courageous animals who helped Britain during World War Two.

Megan Rix regaled children at Blackbourne, Ixworth and St Louis Middle Schools with the tales which formed research for her latest book The Victory Dogs.

The writer, who has also penned The Puppy That Came For Christmas and Stayed Forever, explained how research is transformed into a story and offered tips to aspiring authors.

She also spoke about her own two dogs and experience in helping to train Assistance and Pets as Therapy dogs.
