An education trust is launching an anti-bullying code designed by pupils in one of its schools, in Mildenhall.
Students at Mildenhall College Academy designed the five-point code, which the Academy Transformation Trust is rolling out in its 16 academies.
The STAND code was the winning entry in a competition run by the trust during Anti-Bullying Week last November.
It encompasses five important points, telling pupils to stay calm and stand up for themslves, talk to someone and gain control, always be positive and rise above bullying, never stand and watch, and do take a stand to stop bullying.
Susan Byles, Principal at Mildenhall College Academy, said: “We are so please that our code has been chosen to represent The Trust’s anti-bullying commitment.
“We believe every pupil has the right to feel emotionally and physically safe in our academy and we will do everything we can to make this happen.”
Posters promoting the code are going up in the trust’s schools and will work alongside a digital campaign.
