Although he had to limit his engagements from the beginning of this year as his condition worsened he continued to work until he was admitted to hospital last Thursday.

A statement from the Diocese of East Anglia said he had ‘passed away peacefully’ at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital at 7.10pm last night.
