Driver who died after Mildenhall crash ‘likely’ to have fallen asleep at wheel inquest told

Have your say

The dangers of driving when tired have been reiterated at an inquest in Bury St Edmunds on Thursday (13).

Kenneth Hobbins, 81, was moving home from Norwich to Devon when his car drifted into the path of a lorry.

The crash happened on the A11 at Mildenhall in November. Mr Hobbins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lorry driver Maurice Dunne told how he tried to pull out of the way but was unable to stop the collision.

Mr Hobbins wife Susan said her husband earlier appeared tired and crash investigators said it was most likely that he fell asleep at the wheel.
